Abstract

This study has proved the relationship between social enterprise’s economic performance and social performance, and analyzed if there is a difference between relationship of economic performance and social performance depending on differences in firm size and authentication type. Additionally, we researched about what kinds of effects do social enterprise’s management performance have on government funds. To prove this, the study period is from 2007 to 2015, and analyzed 226 companies/yearly social enterprises as a sample. The major analysis results of the study are；firstly, we analyzed effects that social enterprise’s economic performance have on social performance. As a result of this, it represented that self employment rate for vulnerable social groups is low as debt ratio and the rate of government funds are high, but it was analyzed that self employment rate for vulnerable social groups is high as asset turnover ratio is high. On the other hand, it represented that the economic performance don’t have significant effect on employment rate for vulnerable social groups. Secondly, as a result of analysis of influence that difference of firm size and authentication type have on the economic performance’s relevance of social performance, it represented that both of them don’t have a big influence. Finally, as a result of analysis about the influence of social enterprise’s management performance on the government funds, it represented that self employment rate for vulnerable social groups gets low when debt ratio gets high, and self employment rate for vulnerable social groups gets high when sales growth rate and asset turnover ratio are high. The study has a meaning on showing the effects that social enterprise’s economic performance have on social performance and the influences which social enterprise’s management have on government funds by using the financial statements of social enterprises which are announced on Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency.
