A Study on the Effect of Fitness between Automation Level and Automation Motive on the Performance

Abstract

Nowadays, environment of company is getting competitive. In this environment company have noted the importance of Automation for competitive advantages. The purposes of this study are to empirically examine the effect of Automation Level and Automation Motive on the Performances and to find out the effect of fitness between Automation Level and Automation Motive on the Performances. For this purpose, I reviewed the previous research papers of the same area, then introduced a empirical research model of this study. The major findings of this study are summarized as follows. First, Automation Level have positive effects on the Production Performance, Customer Satisfaction and Financial Performance. Second, Market-pull Motive have no effects on the Production Performance, Customer Satisfaction and Financial Performance. But Technology-push Motive have positive effects on the Production Performance and Customer Satisfaction except for Financial Performance. Third, this study addresses the effect of fitness between Automation Level and Automation Motive on the Production Performance, Customer Satisfaction and Financial Performance. Korea Manufacturing firm can use the results of this study as an indicator when introducing Automation.
